meet Kristen:

Kristen Verrill is a queer-identified Clinical Social Worker specializing in care for LGBTQ+ adults, children and adolescents. She has experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings treating depression, anxiety, symptoms related to trauma, self-harm behaviors, disordered eating behaviors, dysmorphia and dysphoria, ADD and ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder and personality disorders. She has also worked extensively with the transgender and gender non-conforming community and is informed in working with gender identity exploration as well as struggles related to body dysphoria.
Kristen utilizes the therapeutic relationship to help her clients explore historical relational patterns that may influence disruptive behaviors or experiences in their present everyday life. She believes that the therapy room provides a unique and safe space for individuals to identify root causes of painful or disruptive symptoms and/or develop deeper understandings of themselves and their identity.
Kristen appreciates the individuality of each of her clients and adapts her treatment modality to best suit their needs. Her work with clients draws from psychodynamic theory, DBT, and mindfulness based treatments. She works with her clients to develop healthy coping skills to manage difficult feelings in the moment as well as to uncover and understand the narrative behind those feelings.

Katie Totten is a licensed clinical social worker. She has experience working at residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care treating eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. She is a Health At Every Size (HAES) aligned provider and is passionate about challenging diet culture and weight stigma impacting client’s ability to achieve recovery.
She is also a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and believes that everyone is deserving of treatment that provides acceptance, support, and encouragement and is free from judgement.
Katie uses an eclectic approach to therapy, combining different modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to provide individualized treatment to her clients. She also believes in the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship in order to ensure safety in the healing process.

Samantha Flynn is a licensed clinical social worker and Certified Eating Disorder therapist, a rigorous certification that recognizes true expertise in the field of eating disorders.
Prior to joining Nourish, Sam worked as a primary therapist in a residential eating disorder treatment center. She has experience working with adolescents and adults. Sam practices through a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework and believes everyone should feel safe in their bodies. Her passion is empowering clients and challenging diet culture. She believes that the best care should be accessible to all, and this is reflected in her practice.
Sam uses an eclectic approach to treatment – integrating psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and parts work, among others in her practice to provide comprehensive, individualized care. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, disordered eating, trauma, self-harm, personality disorders, and ADD/ADHD.
Sam is able to offer EMDR, as a evidence-based,highly effective option for trauma treatment.
She is also an LGBTQ+-affirming therapist and believes that everyone should have a safe place to heal. She believes that therapy is a powerful tool and the therapeutic alliance is crucial to change.
